Here's a brand new video made by some very special friends of NITETROTTER Trenton Willey, who's absolutely ridiculous and possibly offensive NITETROTTER TV session will be out soon, and Marcus Stringer, an up-and-coming video and digital media wiz. These guys were finishing up this movie a couple of weeks ago when they packed up and left Chicago for warmer climates and cooler jams. We're really proud of these guys and honoured to be featuring their work, so make sure to let these guys know what you think. Oh, and don't forget to keep your eye out for one of NITETROTTER's very own somewhere in this outrageous comedy!
We were really saddened when we heard that Blessure Grave was done. We shouldn't of been because Toby, the man behind the scenes is always at work. His new band Soft Kill just got done recording in Portland and he posted these tracks. I have always liked what Toby does and this is probably some of today's best goth pop yet!

This two piece happens to be from Anchorage Alaska. They were kind enough to perform at Schwag Stock 2 just about a month ago. It was like a go go party in our living room when they played with people dancing on the couches.
They are two great people and we had a good time talking to them about driving from Alaska and all that. Sounds like Alaska is a fun place.

So here is the scenario. Two guys who both play guitar and are named Kyle start a band and decide to call it Hastas. We luckily met them through Teaadora which led to Hastas playing Nitetrotter Fest. They are a great couple of guys and we love their music. Hopefully they will come record again.
Keep a look out for these chill brothers in Illinois. As always, keep on trottin in the free world.
Hastas - "Thermal Graph" "This Weary Static" "Ultimate Destiny's Child" "Undies Into The Future"
Recently a DIY venue named Treasure Town got shut down and their neighbors Mortville are having complications as well that all stem from the inevitable. A journalist named Jake Malooley wrote an article in Time Out Chicago about the venues.
Now Jake Malooley has been the subject of much harassment. The question is does he deserve it? We say yes.
Heres our reasoning. He has emo hair so he should know better.
Chicago has some of the strictest laws about DIY venues and anybody who is involved with underground music at all should realize that even if you need a good article... MUM IS THE WORD. The Chicago authorities can be vicious and there is no reason to make their job easier.
I am sure there was some kind of "Indie" show at the Metro that Mr. Malooley could of wrote about.

Wow. This is truly exciting. We first met ONO at Noise Shock a few years ago. It has been a pleasure ever since.
If you don't know, Travis and P. Michael of ONO started the band in the early 80's unleashing their version of well developed fucked up no wave punk to unsuspecting audiences all over the city of Chicago. Often opening up for influential acts of the day. The group had two records come out on Thermidor(an elusive SST imprint). ONO dropped off for about twenty years until recently when they reunited with some new members.
They have such a uncompromising sound by blending gospel and r&b with performance art laced industrial punk and worldly influences. It's impossible to pin them down.
Their recent Chicago area shows have been legendary. Every show just gets better and better. We were very excited to hear the covers they did for the NITETROTTER Session. Pay close attention to the ad-libbing Travis does in Heroin.
This was recorded at Travis' house on Sunday afternoon, with the occasional break for wine and homemade frittata in his magical garden. We cannot stress how much we love how this session came out.
GOOD NITE

The first time I saw Ghoul Poon perform live was at the first Experi-MENTAL Festival last November. That line up featured founding member Shane Sanchez performing along side the harsh noise duo, Grab Ass Cowboys. I was impressed with Shanes loose structures weaving their creepy imprints through the harsh noise of the Grab Ass Cowboys.
Fast forward a year and I get Ghoul Poon to come down here to Apparition Sound to record a Nitetrotter Session. This time Shane, who is from Albany, N.Y , brings Mike Capritta and Nico Jordan from the band Severe Severe with him to record five very solid tracks. This Ghoul Poon line up has been very busy lately, playing for wider audiences while opening for great bands like Lightning Bolt, Dan Deacon Ensemble and Sleigh Bells. Seriously do check out this session because there is great energy here not to be missed !

In a recent laboratory experiment at the University of Chicago at Illinois a test monkey named "Peter" was a recent casualty in the wave of Four Loko deaths sweeping the country.
Peter was administered two cans of Four Loko orally while to the surprise of the scientists his heart exploded.
Dr. Kenzington at UIC told us that "Peter was a great little guy and its a shame this would happen, but he died for all these dumb college kids who have been dropping like flies. This is an epidemic and we wanted to show the world what is wrong with Four Loko. Don't do it kids!"
Four Loko refused to return our calls on the explosive side effects of their drink. We will be keeping our readers posted on this breaking story.
Students from various Chicago art school have been injecting Four Loko intravenously for an immediate blackout effect.
"People are dying out here that shit is fucked up" said James Kelly an unemployed aspiring hair stylist currently living in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago(which is referred to as the "black hole" for its high amounts of Four Loko abuse via needle). "I know people that go through five cans a night. You can just watch the light go out in their eyes. Its sad. They get so crazy on the stuff. There is no reasoning behind their actions. I've seen people kill while banging Four Loko."
I met with a user who will be referred to as "Amy" she told me that she spends all her time trying to steal Four Loko. "This has ruined my life, all I do is bang Four Loko. My body craves it, I would kill for it."
Right now there are no details on how many intravenous users of Four Loko may be currently using in the city of Chicago but studies by the University of Chicago are underway.
Nitetrotter.com would like to take the time to formally announce our endorsement of Cynthia Plaster Caster in the upcoming Chicago Mayoral election. The world famous rock star cock archivist at the helms would be a valuable asset to the community! She is hard on crime, wants to meet with the gang leaders and wants to protect Chicago from terrorism. Go Cynthia go!
We met Mary in Leeds, England. She played in the middle of a long festival, her set was quite the pleasant surprise. She has meant to come tour here in the US but had to go in for Heart surgery. She will hopefully make it over soon as she is very nice and her music seems very real. Hope you enjoy this free download from NITCO.
We're Not The Cool Kids - "Cracker Jackson" "Number 34" "Strap Hangers and Dope Slangers" "Crafternoon" "Panic Attack" "Ghosts"
This free release from NITCO is an interesting collection of remixes by Jorge Tapia of tracks from Pink Desert and Wether. The final track features his daughter Chica X. Hope you enjoy this download courtesy of Nail In The Coffin. GOOD NITE
The Uncommon Ingestion Of Wether and Pink Desert - "1" "2" "3(featuring Chica X)"
This recording of this almost unknown Denton Texas trio will blow your mind. This is rage in it's purest form and I love it! Great barbaric sax over minimalist no wave drumming and beautifully primitive vocals! Hope you enjoy this classic NITCO release as much as us. GOOD NITE
This elusive Northwestern Illinois band includes Nitetrotter illustrator Rose Noble. Great noise with dark political overtones. We Love this band hope to hear more from them soon.
On All Saints Day we give you this beautiful recording by the underrated Pnk Dsrt. This was released on NITCO a few years back and we want to give it away here on NITETROTTER. We hope you enjoy and GOOD NITE!
